Lori and Kevin - January 20, 2008
Lori and Kevin's wedding was somewhat of a destination wedding for us as it was held in Philadelphia, PA. It was a cold and windy January day, quite different from Jen and Daniel's day only a week before. Despite the cold, the city of brotherly love didn't disappoint. Lori and Kevin planned their day well and their hotel, ceremony and reception were all within a few blocks of each other, and within a few blocks of the heart of downtown Philly.

Their church ceremony was held at the oldest church in Philly, St Joseph's.

A cozy pose in the pews after the ceremony.

Despite a strict order against shooting in front of Independence Hall (a state park), we managed to click off one frame before they chased us out.

The chilly walk to the reception location, The Downtown Club.

Forgot to mention that this was NFL playoff sunday and a big one for Giants fans. The only TV around was in the mens bathroom. Here's the guys huddled around the set.

Jennifer and Daniel - January 12, 2008
Jennifer and Daniel's wedding day started with Jen getting ready at her parent's house in New Jersey and Daniel getting ready in Staten Island. For January, the weather was just gorgeous, a balmy 60 degrees. Their ceremony was held at St. Ann's Church in Staten Island.

Here's nice shot of them exiting the church.

Hanging out in the limo.

Their reception was held at Westbury Manor in Westbury, NY. We managed to grab a few exterior shots just before the early winter sunset.

A classic shot of a beautiful bride.

A word about parking
Our new location at 745 Franklin Ave in Garden City has some ample parking locations that you may not be aware of at first glance. As our storefront is on Franklin Ave, there is no parking directly at the curb in front of the store. However, there is a municipal parking lot directly behind the store which allows for free parking. There is also more than one lot directly across the street from the store. We have created a helpful map to assist you, available at our website by clicking on the Contact link on the home page.

While the parking in the lots is free, please take note of the time restrictions. Some spots are 1 hour limit, others are 2 hour limit and some are 8 hour limit. Also, some have no limit on Sat/Sun while others only have no limit on Sun. The Village does ticket violators.

Starting fresh - January 2008
Well, after much effort, we have finally completed renovation of our new location and are officially conducting business. We even had a formal ribbon cutting with the Garden City Chamber of Commerce and made headlines in the local newspapers. We are thrilled to be a part of such a historical and elegant community and wish to thank the local officials for their cooperation and guidance. We would also like to thank our realtor, Bernie Del Bello of Windsor Commercial Real Estate for such a great find. We would also like to thank all of our couples again for all their support last year and in years prior. You are the heart and soul of Bliss Productions!

Now, after a deep breath, we can finally catch up on the real work - editing your videos and photos, designing your albums and finally updating this journal.

Here's a quick photo tour of our construction journey...

Before we started. Ugh!

Gutted.

Finished! :)

Colleen and Tim - New Year's Eve 2007
New Year's Eve weddings are undoubtedly a blast. Add in the fun-loving couple of Colleen and Tim and it can be a riot. Their ceremony was held at the more than 100 year old St. Gertrude's in Bayville, NY. The church was still decorated for the holidays and had a warm vibe.

Marek shot this cool pic of the guys.

Colleen and Tim's reception was held at The Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, NY. You might not think beach and New Year's Eve go together and while the view was spectacular, the temperature was not. Against a windy twenty degrees or so day, we managed to get a few "cool" exterior portraits.

Yes, they are wearing lampshades on their heads. :)

Everyone gathered in front of a big LCD screen on the dance floor to watch the ball drop. So much fun!

Erin and Brian - December 29, 2007
Erin and Brian's wedding ceremony was held at St. Philip & James Church in St.James, NY. The church was still beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday with Christmas trees and large wreaths. After the ceremony, we had just enough time before sunset to grab some portraits at a vintage manor house and then it was on to their reception at Hamlet Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mt. Sinai, NY. One of our favorite shots of the year occurred at the edge of darkness on the grounds of the country club. Thank you all for another great year!

WE ARE MOVING! (this is good news) - November 2007
Yes, we are moving, but not very far. After a few great years (thanks to all of our couples) we are leaving our current Williston Park office and moving less than 3 miles South to a storefront location in the heart of Garden City, NY. Our new location will be done in a "Soho Gallery" style and will be ready on or about December 1st, 2007. We are currently renovating the space and will put up some progress pictures soon.

In the meantime, please take note of our new phone number 516.442.0490 which also appears in the header of our website. Our new address will be 745 Franklin Ave, Garden City, NY, 11530. The store is on the East side of Franklin Ave between Stewart Ave and 7th Street, amidst lots of great restaurants, shops, a Dunkin Donuts and a Starbucks!

Also, our main photographer Michael will be taking on a more active role in the sales and customer service portion of our business, so don't be surprised if he answers the phone. Michael thought it was important to be more involved with our couples not just during, but before and after their wedding day. Jerry is still around, we're just giving him a well-deserved break from the day-to-day stuff.

Vicki and Tom - October 27, 2007
Vicki and Tom are an offbeat, artsy couple and were a lot of fun to be around. Their ceremony was traditional Greek and was held at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Flushing, NY. The interior of the church is just stunning.

Lots of smiles!

Their reception was held at The Fox Hollow in Woodbury, NY.

Loved Vicki's red shoes.

The cupcake alternative.

A quiet moment alone by the fireplace.

"We can not wait to see the rest!!"

Carli and Dominic - October 13, 2007
Carli and Dominic's wedding day was held at Nicotra’s Ballroom in the Staten Island Hilton. They both got ready in the hotel and met before their ceremony for pictures on the parklike grounds.

A nice ring shot.

Carli's dress was hot and the back was nicely detailed.

The tulips in this shot are about fifty feet tall and made of steel.

A cute pose with Carli's flower girl.

A wide shot of their ceremony.

Stay tuned for Dominic's sister Maria's wedding in late March.
