Arcenia and Andrew - October 7, 2006
Arcenia and Andrew's wedding day photos were taken at the Gerry Park in Roslyn, NY. Since we had already spent an afternoon with them during their engagement photo shoot, we found them both relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. This almost always equates to great photos.

We love this nighttime shot with the moon in the background. We find that the few minutes we ask our couples to be away from their reception after dark are always worth it.

October 2006 - Web site cover photo
This month's photo is from Kate and Brian's wedding in Montauk, NY. The photo was shot just before the ceremony on a private balcony at Gurney’s Inn and Spa, their wedding day location. Curiously, the image was taken in full sunlight, which is usually a no-no, but having Kate turn her head away from the sun accomplished two things - she didn't have to squint and the image reminds us of her last minute reflections just before tying the knot.

Becky and Ralph - Engagement photo shoot
Occasionally, when our schedule permits, we photograph some of our couples after their engagement day and prior to their wedding day. These photos are often displayed at the wedding reception in the form of framed portraits and also in a unique “sign-in” book. (Call us to learn more about this special service.) Becky and Ralph chose the picturesque Arboretum on the campus of LIU C.W. Post in Brookville, NY.

We chose to shoot at the perfect time of day, just before sunset, to take advantage of the late fall sunlight. Becky and Ralph appear to be very much in love and we look forward to shooting their wedding in August of 2007.

Jessica and Brett - September 24, 2006

We had a lot of fun with Jessica and Brett and their friends at this weekend’s wedding. Jessica’s maid of honor, Lisa is also one of our brides and her wedding is planned for July of 2007. The rest of the bridal party were fun to be with and led to some great images.

We often recommend that our couples allow for at least an hour of time between the ceremony and cocktail hour for bridal party and family photos. Jessica and Brett planned well and we had ample time to experiment with some cool shots at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, site of the 1939 and 1965 World Fairs. One of our favorites is Brett’s Hercules shot.

Nino and Giovanni - September 10, 2006
Our second wedding of this weekend’s doubleheader was Nino and Giovanni’s. Nino got ready at the Roslyn Claremont Hotel in the quaint village of Roslyn, NY. The couple met each other before the ceremony so we had plenty of time to go to the beach and grab some cool shots of the bridal party and of Nino and Giovanni alone.

Their ceremony and reception was held at nearby Swan Club in Roslyn Harbor. The weather was perfect and we took advantage of the beautiful gardens for some additional portraits and candids. All in all, it was a great day!

Elena and Cliff - September 9, 2006
September is the start of the “new” busy season. Early fall weddings are more popular than ever because of the consistently fair weather and colorful scenery. Elena and Cliff selected Pelham Country Club in Westchester, NY as the location for their fall wedding.

Their reception was not typical and was full of offbeat surprises. Highlights included a Bingo game and DVD slideshow. Elena also showcased her love of Peanuts characters with a huge Snoopy balloon attached to her table. We really enjoyed Elena and Cliff’s fun spirit and welcomed the deviation from the norm.

September 2006 - Web site cover photo

This month's image is from Dana and Ryan's wedding at the Our Lucaya Resort in Freeport, Bahamas. The shot was taken from Dana's balcony at the Westin Hotel. Michael used a fisheye lens in order to capture the full panorama of the spectacular scenery. The shot was taken during Dana's last moments as a single woman.

Dana and Ryan - August 12, 2006
Dana and Ryan's wedding was held at the Our Lucaya Resort in Freeport, Bahamas. While the climate in the Bamahas in August is hot, to say the least, the location couldn't have been better from a photographic perspective. Jerry, Marek and Michael flew down on a Friday afternoon to get a jump on scouting the location. We were thrilled to say the least.

Dana and Ryan are both very athletic and the tropical setting suited them well. In fact, Dana is a Beach Volleyball pro on the AVP tour. Dana’s dress was a slinky number that fit her perfectly. Her bridesmaids dresses featured hand painted red and pink flower details on off-white fabric. Ryan and the groomsmen looked cool in their linen pants and pale green shirts.

The reception was thankfully indoors in an atrium with 360 degree views of the scenery. All in all, the trip was fun and the photos and video are incredible. Thanks to Dana and Ryan for a great time! You can view their online slideshow by clicking below.
